We respectfully petition the Abington School District Board to immediately adopt a policy permitting the display of only officially sanctioned government flags—such as U.S., state, and local school flags—on all school district grounds*.

The intent is to create a viewpoint-neutral, inclusive, and disruption-free educational environment for everyone. This is not about silencing personal beliefs but ensuring that publicly funded schools remain focused, respectful spaces for education.

*See Tinker v. Des Moines (1969), which allows schools to restrict expressive conduct that disrupts learning, infringes on the rights of others, or undermines the educational purpose.

Abington Township leadership prefers the look of forward thinking concern. School board members have allowed a negative environment to spread into the middle school and high school. Flying flags is about surface level appearances.
